Laboratory safety needs for chemical analysis

In this post,we are going to see the safety and necessary things used in laboratory.working in chemical lab is like both loud and silent adventure.for our good health and safety we should keep some protective thing in laboratory.

From real life experiences,I want to tell some more about chemical analysis.the following things are mandatory for a chemical lab.

Air conditioner:

There are mostly various chemicals in a chemical laboratory.we know a chemical concept, "Vapour of chemicals increase with increase in temperature".so the laboratory must maintain the temperature of about 25 degree Celsius or below 25 degree is over good.if temperature is higher than 25, that means we breathing oxygen with some other vapourized chemicals that having odour or odour less.

Exhauster:

The another important thing should be used with air conditioner.however the cooling from A/C prevents the chemicals trans to vapour,some easily evaporated chemicals or lower vapour point spreading around the lab.for removing such chemicals we need exhauster.

Cupboard racks:

All chemicals should keep inside the cupboard racks.open when necessary.that is safe to us.

Safety shower:

There must be a safety shower in laboratory.if any accident occured a person.he or she have to shower directly from that.

Fire extinguisher:

Chemical organic solvents are usually flammable.in case of fire in laboratory,we must have a fire extinguisher near by.

First aid box:

This first aid box is used for small injuries and recoverable pains.in case of high damage, hospital is preferred.

Gloves and it's importance:

A important thing for working in chemical laboratory.many chemicals have effects by only touching them.many chemicals do not go even when washing with water and they stay long time.for our safety, we should wear it during chemical analysis.

Goggle:

A important safety thing.not just goggle.entire eye covering goggle is important.wearing eye goggle is very important.

Apron:

While doing analysis, there are many chances of chemicals to fall on our body.to protect us,we should wear apron.

Ice cubes:

In spite of we using ice cubes for chemical analysis,we must have that for our safety.sometimes the water or ice water is enough if acid fallen on our hands.

Fire alarms:

In case of unexpected fire in the laboratory.we can easily prevent it from being large effects.fire alarms helps us to escape from laboratory while danger.

Emergency exit:

In case of every type of danger,we need a fast escaping way.emergency exit helps us even when earth quake.having safely escaping way is necessary.

Slow walking and carefulness:

Slow walking in a chemical laboratory is mandatory to prevent accidents while handling chemicals

Separated lab rooms:

We must have separated lab rooms because of following reasons.

Acid room:

Usually chemical analysis need to storing acids in different room.exposuring/adding acid having several effects.for example,the hydrochloric acid spread easily with air and we cannot control it.

Hot room:

For storing oven, furnace,hot blocks we need a room.if not,the heat from these instruments give temperature changes in your chemical analysis.

Solvent room:

Generally most of the solvent having smell that affects our body.while exposure to air that spread easily.so we need solvent room separately.
